The band pre-dated, but are sometimes regarded as part of, the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, which re-energised heavy metal in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Motörhead were a British heavy metal band formed in London, UK in 1975 by bassist, singer and songwriter Ian Fraser Kilmister (24 December 1945 – 28 December 2015), known mostly by his stage name Lemmy, who has remained the sole constant member. I want to also shout out the song Limb From Limb at the end something about that guitar tone! It’s warm, fuzzy and raunchy! Love that tone, if I could bottle that guitar tone I’d write solos till I die. Stay Clean would be my top pick of the album, love how fast Eddie and Lem compliment each other while playing. I just never fell in love with the song, it seemed like a slower more endearing song and I didn’t love it. If there was one track id score lower than the rest it would be Capricorn. The next few tracks are snarly, the lyrics are fist shakers and middle finger blasters to the real scumbags of society-I wont pay your price and no class especially. Stay Clean has one banger of a bass solo courtesy of Lem.

The opener Overkill (I think) was one of the first songs to ever have the use of the double bass pedal like that just slamming away.

It was a great second album for the band where they refined their sound and style just a bit more from being another heavy band doing covers. As a lifelong motorheadbanger, overkill is absolutely in my top three Motörhead albums.
